Participation
Open to all cyclists who have subscribed membership to National and International Sports Federations and to the Consultation Boards.
Cyclist tourists can only take part in the Medium Distance Route (97,3 km).

Rigid helmet: full-face type-approved helmet is compulsory.

Maximum Time:
By 2.00 pm, Medium Distance, Yellow Route (97,3 km), After the respective
By 4.00 pm, Long Distance, Green Route (145 km)maximum times, run services
By 4.00 pm, Extra-long Distance, Red Route (180 km) are not guaranteed.

Checkpoints: Starting line – GPM Monte Baldo – Erbezzo – Fosse – GPM Lessinia – Finishing line

Private Assistance: is allowed for previously authorized competitors (a numerical badge is to be given by the Race Office) only at GPMs and filling stations. 

Uphill Time Trial: Peri/Fosse (9 km with 10 hairpin bends, classification is taken only for the cyclists who have completed the Green and Red Routes (Long Distance and Extra-long Distance). For the Yellow Route (Medium Distance) only the uphill times will be taken.

Road Routes: the Routes include State and Provincial roads with surfaces in good conditions. All roads are open to traffic, therefore we warn the competitors to comply strictly with the rules of the Highway Code and to respect the environment and the territory.

Sanitary Regulations: the competitors must have a valid Sports Health Certificate for the current year. Cyclist tourists must have a health certificate issued by the family doctor. All participants must report within the end of the competition any accident that may have occurred to them, and any aid that they may have received during the race, to:
            - Organising Association
            - Own Association
            - Jury
            - Race medical officer / medical assistance

The Organiser refuses all responsibility for anything that has not been reported.

Antidoping: the current law is applied.

Responsibility: the Organizer refuses all responsibility for any accident that may occur before, during and after the competition. The single participants take upon themselves the responsibility for any possible accident caused by them.

General Rules: by signing the application form, the participants take upon themselves the responsibility for their behaviour during the competition, declaring to be in good physical conditions, to possess the required membership and to have read and approved these regulations.

Disqualifications: the competitors who give false information on the application form, who behave incorrectly towards the other participants, organizers, competition officers, police officers or spectators, or who are caught while getting hauled, receiving assistance from unauthorized people or cutting across the route, will be disqualified and submitted to the competent authorities. – See laws and regulations of CSI and Consultation Boards.

Changes to the regulations: can be applied in case of intervening causes. Information will be given through the internet in the following website: www.lascaligera.it. The final regulations will be posted up in the Race Office at Arsenale.

Claims: must reach the Jury within the time limits set by CSI and Consultation Boards, and must be accompanied by the relevant tax; if the claim is accepted, the tax will be given back.

For anything not provided for in these regulations, the Civil Code laws are applied.

WINNING TIME 2009 CHIP REGULATIONS
The timekeeping service will be supplied by Winning Time. In order to be timed, every competitor must have his own chip.

The athletes who already have a chip can renew it for 2005. The renewal, compulsory and free, guarantees the correctness of the data; it can only be done at a Winning Time point or in the following website: www.winningtime.com.

Please note: Renewal during the competition is not possible.

The athletes who don’t have a chip can buy it at the Chip Point in the pectoral distribution area; the chip costs € 10 and it is immediately activated and valid FOR EVER in all the world’s events timed by Winning Time.

A daily chip, valid only for this event, can be hired and it is given at a price of € 10, of which € 8 will be repaid when the chip is returned.

LAST IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Highway Code
The Highway Code is valid for every car or motorbike following the races.
Those who don’t respect the road laws will be disqualified.
Everybody must keep on the right side of the road.
On mountain roads there is a real danger of animal crossing.

ROUTE CHOICE
All the competitors must choose, when registering, the route they wants to run (Red, Green or Yellow).
If a competitor changes his route during the competition, he/she will be disqualified.

CITY ROUTE
The last part of the route, after the Torricelle, is very winding and the traffic is intense. Please pay attention!

STARTING GRID
We warn the competitors that during the transfer from Piazza Brà to Ponton (20 km), they will have to keep their initial positions until Ponton after the bridge on the Adige, where the uphill starts); there, the car of the Race Director will move, letting the competitors run.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
We remind you that the technical assistance during the race is managed by the firm Tagliare Danilo and FIR. All expenses for replacements and spare parts will have to be paid to the firm Tagliare and FIR.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
All expenses for the use of ambulances (Croce Verde) or helicopters (Verona Emergenza – tel. 117) will have to be settled with the respective medical organizations.
The nearest hospitals are in Verona, Caprino Veronese and Ala (TN).
All participants must report, by the end of the competition, every accident that may have occurred, and every aid that may be received during the race to:

Organizing Association – Own Association – Medical Officer or Medical Assistance – Jury.

The Organiser refuses all responsibility for anything that has not been reported.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
In case of changes in the original routes, detailed information will be given before the start of the race.
 

ROAD SIGNS
The GranFondo route (180 km) will be recognizable by the following signs:
    - White arrows on red background = they point the direction to follow
    - Red signs = decreasing kilometric distance
The Fondo route (145 km) will be recognizable by the following signs:
    - Black arrows on green background = they point the direction to follow
    - Green signs = decreasing kilometric distance
The Yellow route (97,3 km) will be recognizable by the following signs:
    - Black arrows on yellow background = they point the direction to follow
    - Yellow signs = decreasing kilometric distance
For all the three routes:
    Yellow signs: danger/warning
    Pink signs: Technical Assistance and Refreshments
    Red signs: Technical data of the main uphills – GPM
    White signs: Croce Verde – medical assistance

RACE OFFICE AND PARKING LOT “ARSENALE”
Office and parking lot close on Sunday at 8.00 pm.

FACILITIES
Showers: Hot water shower facilities are at Arsenale.
Meal voucher: every participant has the right to receive a meal at the Arsenale. The voucher is given by the Race Office.
